•                                     MUHARRAM UL HARRAM

    Muharram is the first month of the Islamic calendar. It is one of the four holy long months of the year. Since the Islamic calendar is a lunar calendar, Muharram moves from year to year when contrasted and the Gregorian calendar.

    The general population of Kufa referred to better as Shiane Ali trusted that the Khilafat was the privilege of the Prophet's (SAW) family as it were. When they caught wind of Yazid's arrangement they chose to deny Yazid's Khilafat and rather offered loyalty to Imam Hussain (RA) .They were empowered in their insight that Imam Hussain (RA) had additionally declined to acknowledge Yazid as the Khalifa. Imam Hussain (RA) had moved with his family to Makkah as he detected inconvenience in Madina. The Kufans started to compose letters asking for him to come to Kufa to take up the royal position. Inside a short timeframe, many letters had arrived all enthusiastically inquiring him to come to Iraq and that they would set out their lives for him. Imam Hussain was overpowered by every one of these solicitations so he sent his cousin, Muslim ibn Aqeel to go and examine their cases.
    When he landed in Kufa he was given an upbeat welcome and inside a couple of days, eighteen thousand Shiane Ali's had sworn the oath of constancy to Imam Hussain (RA). Muslim ibn Aqeel wrote to Imam Hussain (RA) expressing that the general population of Kufa earnestly need you as their Khalifa.

    Ibn e Ziyad was ruthless and cracked down, he threatened them so much that they don't take baait on Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) otherwise he will kill them. Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) left Makkah along with his family and many well wishes but He (RA) don't know the change of circumstances of Kufa under Ibn e Ziyad.

    On 2nd Muharram Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) carvan enters Karbala and establishes camp. On 7th Muharram water was banned to Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) carvan by Yazeed's order. 10th Muharram  is the day of Ashurah when Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) was martyred in the battle of Karbala.

    Many Sunni's Muslims fast on 9 & 10 Muharram.Muharram month is the month of greatest sacrifice which was given by Nawasa E Rasool (SAW).
