Jamal Khashoggi Murder: Timeline

  • Just over period of time agone, Saudi dissident and Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi went nonexistent once going into the Saudi diplomatic building in Turkish urban center. His disappearance has currently evolved into a full-blown international crisis. Throughout it all, the Saudi government’s official line keeps shifting because the world waits for answers.

    Sept. 28: Jamal khasoggi, a Saudi Born came to turkey to marry his fiancé. He spent the weekend in England and came to turkey to get the documents in order to marry his Fiancé

    Oct. 2: Cengiz, khashoggi Fiancé waited outside the consulate with both the phones of Khashoggi. She was told by Jamal to ring the authorities if he is not able to get out of the consulate in time. All of turkish staff was told to take the day off on the day of disappearance.

    Oct. 3: On his wedding day, Jamal was no where to be found as authorities started questioning the consulate. With no immediate response from the Saudi officials
    Saudi prince MBS told a news agency that security agencies are welcome to search the premises and they have nothing to hide

    Oct. 4: Saudi ambassador told the Turkish Foreign minister that they have no clue on the whereabouts of khashoggi
    Saudi government’s first official response stated that the whereabouts of khashoggi after he left the consulate building are unknown.
    Saudi officials also stated that the Khashoggi left the consulate via the back entrance.

    Oct. 7: “The official strongly denounced these baseless allegations, and expressed his doubt that they came from Turkish officials that are informed of the investigation or are authorized to comment on the issue” Saudi Officials came in with this new statement over Khashoggi murder.

    Oct. 9: The president of Turkey Mr. Erdugan told an outlet that they need a solid prrof that khashoggi left the consulate building ”He entered the general consulate himself and if he has entered by himself and if he did not exit it, of course this should be proven by the general consulate,” he said.

    Oct. 10: Saudi officials failed to give any CCTV footage or any proof of Khashoggi leaving the consulate building. Many believed that the footage was removed and was taken overseas by private jets.

    Oct. 11: Donald Trump threatened Saudi Arab to cut off arm sales over the khashoggi case. He also told the reporters that the khashoggi was not an American citizen and it all happened it Turkey but “We don’t like it”

    Oct. 12: Saudi Officials again denied all the allegations against them and called all of the rumors baseless and didn’t acknowledge any of the CCTV footage requirment.

    Oct. 15: Saudi Arab got the official backing from the countries like Sudan, Kuwait and Comoros.

    Oct. 16: CNN reported through an anonymous person that the Khashoggi was murdered and cut into pieces to dispose off his body. Turkish officials searching the consulate found that the consulate recently got a fresh coat of paint inside the building “everywhere”

    Oct. 17: CNN after getting in information from three inside sources claimed that the khashoggi was killed after being interrogated by the High Saudi Intelligence.
    New York Times article explained that the Killer severed his fingers, beheaded him and dismembered his body.

    Oct. 19: Saudi Arabia Back tracked on all of its previous statements and accepted that the Khashoggi in fact died inside the consulate announcing it through the state media. They claimed that he died as a result of a fist fight and there are 18 Saudi Citizens under investigation for khashoggi’s murder.
    The body or the remaining’s of Jamal Khashoggi Are yet to be found.
