We've got some exciting news to share with you before the game's official release on September 10th.
It's been less than a week since we revealed this year's cover athletes, and now it's time to give you a sneak peek at what's inside the book beyond the cover image. As previously stated, this is only an initial look at some of the new features coming to NBA 2K22; more in-depth information will be released in August and September to reveal even more of what's new in the next version of the most popular NBA basketball simulation video game.

NBA 2K22's MyTEAM feature evolves NBA 2K22 MT into the ultimate experience for creating and competing with your own dream team from the very beginning, but that's not all there is to the feature. The number of players on MyTEAM will grow with the release of each Season.
Draft - Returning in NBA 2K22 after a long absence, MyTEAM: Draft allows you to assemble your own starting lineup from a pool of players that is constantly being updated with new names and stats. In order to earn rewards for your MyTEAM Collection, you must compete with your new lineup in online multiplayer games.
THE EVOLUTION OF MYTEAM IS AN EXPERIENCE TO BE HAPPY ABOUT -New challenges, rewards, and events are introduced throughout the year in NBA 2K22, ensuring that every Season is fresh and distinct in MyTEAM gameplay. Even more features will be added to MyTEAM throughout the year, including a brand new game mode that will be released during the holiday season, on top of the numerous enhancements that were introduced on Day 1.
Within the same console families, VC wallet, MT NBA 2K22, and MyTEAM Token balances will all be transferrable as well.
Major enhancements to on-court gameplay are being implemented to give players more control over not only how they score the ball, but also how they counter those moves on the defensive end. However, this is just the beginning. Additionally, the first NBA 2K22 Gameplay Reveal trailer will be released later in August and will showcase more significant gameplay changes.
DRIVER OFFENSE - Breaking down defenders off the dribble with new signature moves and combinations, precision jump shooting, dunking in traffic, and pulling off alley-oops have all become more skill-based in the last few years. Even more important in distinguishing top offensive players are basketball intelligence and stick skills.
Defense - A completely revamped shot contest and blocking system are just a couple of the many new defensive tools you'll be able to employ. Extremely effective perimeter and in-the-paint defense has never felt more rewarding, giving elite defenders the ability to make a significant difference in a game's final outcome.
The Seasons feature, which is available across fan-favorite experiences, allows players to continue and improve their hoop ambitions long after the game's initial release. More information about the Seasons experience will be released later in August, including a timeframe.
NBA 2K22 gives two very different makeovers to the world's largest online basketball community. In an all-new version of the City, players on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S 2K22 will take the court and shoot hoops; players on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC will also take to the court and shoot hoops. As they prepare to set sail for the open seas, 2K22 players will compete. In each unique online experience, bring your best MyPLAYER builds with you and express yourself through both your game and your style.
NPCs (non-playable characters) populate the new City layout, while MyPLAYERS from all over the world compete in the highest level of playground basketball competition in the game's history. MyPLAYERS will be engaged with creative content through the introduction of a brand-new Quest system in NBA 2K22, which will also provide new ways to level up and earn rewards in this reimagining of the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S basketball community.
Using MyPLAYERs, players can enter specific matchmaking buildings and be immediately placed into competitive situations. For a number of different game types, matchmaking sessions will be available, and they will count towards your MyPLAYER progress.
In an all-new, dedicated basketball community - a Neighborhood built on the spacious decks of a sailing cruise ship - NBA 2K gamers will be able to show off and compete on the PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC platforms. -Explore and hoop in nautical luxury, and when the cruise ship docks in exotic locations throughout the Season, make your way to the Excursion counter to participate in shoreside Events that take place entirely off the ship!

In NBA 2K22, team management encompasses more than just the players on the court; it also encompasses the personnel who scout, train, and coach those players. In order to build the most successful franchise possible, MyNBA/MyWNBA players must ensure that the team's personnel is just as talented as its players on the court.
