    Objective

     

    To introduce the development in Tharparkar as a result of establishment of Thar Coal Project and its corporate social responsibility activities whose positive outcomes have upgraded the lifestyles of local people of Thar.

     

    Mission

     

    To highlight the importance of development for a society while ensuring a better environment for people to live.

     

    Synopsis/Explanation

     

    The documentary featured simplicity in the life of people living in desert and how development through a fuel that causes environmental degradation can be transformed into beneficial one for people by utilizing harmful byproducts of coal in construction process and growing more trees for minimizing adverse effects of coal energy based development.

     It also featured interviews with the chief executive officer and environmentalist of Sindh Engro coal mining company who discussed how development started in Thar through the discovery of largest coal seam in Pakistan and how the developmental work is advancing, who are supporting this project and how environment is secured from carbon footprint as coal is considered as a dirty fuel.

    Methodology

     

    RESEARCH:

    Following sources of research were tapped:

    • Libraries

    Research papers on how coal can be used to produce energy for the national grid.

    • Internet

    Current ways used to reduce carbon footprint from the environment.

    • SECMC

    Sindh Engro Coal Mining Company is the project where coal is extracted through mining and they reduce Carbon footprint by planting more trees under Thar million tree project.

    • Lucky Group of Companies (Lucky Cement)

    The team told how carbon footprint is reduced when fly ash is used as an ingredient in the manufacturing of cement for construction purposes.

     

     

     

     

    FIELD SURVEY:

    Field survey of Coal mine and the Power plant along with areas of Islamkot

    Since the subject of documentary was scattered in a very wide area, therefore it was decided to conduct a field survey of various places in the desert of Thar.

     

    VIDEOGRAPHY:

    During the field survey I personally shot all the visuals on Canon 70 D with portrait lens, wide angle and long shot lens along with a drone to capture drone shot which was operated by a drone operator.

     

    STRUCUTRE:

    Starting from the verses of Holy Quran to the beautiful land of Thar

    Life of people of Thar to introduction of Coal Mine discovered in Thar and further development in the mining project leading towards generation of energy and then adding up in the National Grid

    Corporate and social responsibility activities by SECMC in collaboration with The Citizens Foundation and Indus Hospital.

     Development of roads and resettlement houses for local people of Thar.

    Featuring interview of CEO of Sindh Engro Coal Mining Company and Environmentalist establishing how coal is being safely used for the production of energy as to reduce Carbon footprint Million Tree project has been started

    Survey of cement factory of Lucky Group of Companies as carbon footprint can also be reduce by incorporating harmful fly ash in the manufacturing of cement for construction purposes.
