Pakistani Singers Who Made Us Proud

  • Pakistan has been gifted with immense talent. Pakistani artists have represented Pakistan on different platforms and made Pakistan proud by showcasing their talent in front of entire world. Since independence, with the release of first Pakistani film “TERI YAAD” in 1948, Pakistan has produced extraordinary talent. Pakistani singers have gained so much fame around the world and they are getting more and more recognition with love as time is flying.

     Here are the Singers from Pakistan that made us proud and represented Pakistan on an International level.

    1. MEHDI HASSAN

    He born in 1927. He is known as “KING OF GHAZAL” or “SHAHENSHA E GHAZAL”. He is credited with bringing ghazal singing to a worldwide audience. he influenced generations of singers from diverse genres, from Jagjit Singh to Sonu Nigam.

    1. NOOR JAHAN

    She born in 1925.  She is known as “MALIKA E TARANUM” or “THE QUEEN OF MELODY”. She was a playback singer and actress as well, she worked in British India before independence and then in Pakistan. Her career span is more than 60 years. she holds the record for having given voice to the largest number of film songs in the history of Pakistani cinema. 

    1. NUSRAT FATEH ALI KHAN

    He born in 1948. He is known as “THE SHAHENSHA E QAWALLI” or “THE KING OF QAWALLI”. He toured extensively, performing in over 40 countries. He is considered as one of the greatest voices ever recorded.  He was signed by Oriental Star Agencies, Birmingham, England. He went on to release movie scores and albums in Europe, India, Japan, Pakistan and the US. He engaged in collaborations and experiments with Western artists, becoming a well-known world music artist.
