National Songs in 60's

  • Pakistani National songs are so catchy, it activates sentiments of a person and the sense of responsibility towards the Nation.  Patriotic Songs are so heartwarming and sum up a nation’s mood. Pakistani Singers have sung many songs to encourage army, youngsters, to say thanks to our great leaders, to describe the beauty of Pakistan as well. New generation is no less than the older generation, they are also participating equally to inject patriotism, peace and love through their melodies. They are the driving force behind the champions of cricket, hockey and other fields as well.  Historic Patriotic songs were so passionate, even during the 60’s Radio Pakistan broad-casted several songs that boosted the army during the war against India. Here are the most popular songs released during the war of 1965.

    1. Eiy Puttar Hattan Tey Nai Vikdey

    A beautiful melody sung by Noor Jehan and written by Ghulam Mustafa Tabassum for Radio Pakistan.

    1. Chand Meri Zameen Phool Mera Watan

    A very enthusiastic song sung by Ustad Amanat Ali Khan, which describes the beauty of the land and the effort by our powerful army. It was reproduced in 1998 by Alamgir.

    1. Aye Rah e Haq Ke Shaheedo

    Naseem Begum admired the Pak army and paid the tribute to the martyrs of the nation. The lyrics were penned by Saif-ud-din Saif.

    1. Aye Watan Key Sajiley Jawanoo

    Again the great Malika e Taranum Noor Jehan gave her voice for the beautiful words written by Jamiluddin Aali. A great melody that motivated the soldiers.

    Ustad Amanat Ali Khan sang a wonderful song that showcased his love for the great country.

    The King Of Ghazal, Mehdi Hassan gave us a beautiful where he described what he can do for the country. The wording described that every Pakistani is so motivated and can do anything for the country, even sacrifice their life for the love of Pakistan.

    1. Jaag Utha Hai Saara Watan

    Various Artistes lend their voices to show the enemy that whole country is united and they have stood together to fight against the evil eye. It was reproduced by Alamgir in 1982.

    1. Jeevay Jeevay Pakistan

    It is one of the oldest and famous patriotic anthems in Pakistan, it was released in 1965 at the time of Pakistan-India war. The song was written by Nawabzada Mirza Jamiluddin Ahmed Khan.

    1. Sohni Dharti

    Sohni Dharti was released after the Pak-Indo war in 1965. It is more of a prayer that may Allah keep Pakistan united and safe. It was sung by Shehnaz Begum, a Bangladeshi singer before the split up and then by Mehdi Hassan.

    1. Aye Rah-e-Haq Ke Shaheedo

    This song was originally sung by Naseem Begum in the war of 1965. Later on Noor Jahan and many other playback singers gave the song their voice. Recently, Coke Studio relaunched the song with new voices.
