Kuch roz reh gaye hain Shikast e Yazeed mein”
Muharram is the first month of Hijri calendar, which is based on lunar cycle. It is one of the four sanctified months about which the Holy Quran says, Surely the number of months with Allah is twelve months in Allah’s ordinance since the day when He created the heavens and the earth, of these four being sacred; that is the right reckoning; therefore be not unjust to yourselves regarding them.– Surah Tawbah, 36. The ten nights of Muharram should be widely recognized as a period of mourning for each and every Muslim. Specifically, on 10th Muharam many incredible events occurred including this great sacrifices of the Ahl-Baith and the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA), the grandson of our beloved Holy Prophet (PBUH), son of Hazrat Ali (R.A) and leader of all youth females in Paradise “Hazrat Bibi Fatima Zahra (R.A). The battlefield of Karbala was arranged to assassinate the family of Prophet Muhammad SAW to taught Muslims the lesson of patience, tolerance and importance of Salat as Imam Hussain sacrificed his life during reciting Salat only for preserving Islam. This gigantic sacrifice was happened just for Umat e Rasool SAW to recognize the significance of Salat and does not cast-off their sacrifice. Although, Imam Hussain could left the salat in the battlefield because he already had Paradise annunciation by Allah but it was for us to get the message from it. Hazrat Muhammad SAW said, “Hussain is of myself and I am of Hussain. O’ Allah be pleased with those who please Hussain and hate those who hate Hussain”.
