Fans of Animal Crossing: New Horizons have been facing a content drought for months, although Nintendo promises more substantial updates. Just last week there was another update that offered nothing more than a few new items and a warmed-up event from last year.
But the data miners from Animal Crossing World took this as an opportunity to rummage through Animal Crossing update 1.11. It was noticeable that work was still being carried out on a feature that many have wanted for a long time.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons will hopefully have a coffee shop soon
For several updates there have been indications in the code that there will be a café in the game. This already existed in the predecessors and was run by the barista pigeon Brewster. In Animal Crossing: New Leaf it was possible to meet with the residents and special characters of the village or even to work there yourself.
Because of the mini-game, many fans are hoping that the café will return. It would be a new pastime and the perfect place to meet other players.
The café will probably become part of the museum
As the Datamine leak suggests, the café would only be part of the museum. In the code for version 1.11, camera parameters have been changed for the code reference "IdrMuseumCafe".
Dialogs have also been added to the museum expansion event. References were discovered within the MuseumLevel event that indicate a conversation about the status of the café. According to this, the museum director Eugen could, for example, draw the players' attention to how far the new Animal Crossing floor in the museum has progressed.
There have been initial indications of a café in the museum since April 2020. Even then it was suspected that there would be another floor on which the pigeon Kofi and her establishment will nestle. In update 1.10 there were already further indications of a museum expansion - including a new entrance to the museum.
However, the current information is still a Datamine, which is why you should use the information with caution. It may be that these are only functions that are perhaps being developed as part of a planning phase or have already been discarded. But since small progress can be seen from time to time, Brewster's café could actually follow soon.
