    Anita karim is the first female MMA fighter of the Pakistan. She belongs from the remote areas of Gilgit Baltistan region. She is the first woman MMA Fighter in the Pakistan society. She has been associated with Pakistan MMA Fighting based Club Team Fight Fortress of Pakistan. She has been working with the Team Fortress team for three years.

    In her family, her parents and four of the siblings supported her in this sport. As being a in a Pakistani society various gender specific stereotypes did not let women to be become a mixed martial art sportsperson. However it is all because of the consistent family support and her trainers especially the Fight Fortress key personnel’s who themselves are the expert mixed martial arts sportspersons Ehtasham Karim and Ali Sultan. Both of these mixed martial arts trainers have been providing the guidance and training to youth who are motivated to be the part of this sport.

     Fight Fortress club emerged as a prominent in mixed martial arts sports as this club carried this tradition of coaching for fifteen years. This fight fortress club is also a backbone behind the successful professional journey of the Anita Karim in this sports. 

     

    Achievements

     As an athlete she participated in national and international level mixed martial arts fights. Marvelous achievements of the Anita includes the

    One Warrior Series (OWS) against Indonesia’s Gita Suharsono in Singapore.

    Women’s National Jujitsu Champion (PGC) and Women’s National Submission Grappling Champion (PGC.

     

     

    In her successful journey of fighting career, she won two gold medals in Pakistan Grappling championship in 2018. After a few months hard training, she debuted in the international Fight in One FC, The second international MMA Fighting Promotion, She Fought against the New Zealand Fighter Nyrene Crowley, it was her first fight in which she gave outstanding performance and lost the match in second round by submission. She continued her training for few months. After this fight she overcame her weakness and continued the training. Before the second fight she joined the one month mixed martial arts camp at Thailand. She scored her first success in international level fight against an

    Indonesian fighter named Gita Suharsono and her win was declared by the unanimous decision in Singapore.

    After scoring the win in these fights, she set the example against the society stereotypes. She has bee an inspirational and shining star of youth who just broke the Glass ceiling of the stereotypes that created the hurdles for youth in pursuing this mixed martial arts sports as a profession. Her appearance in this sport gave a hope to Pakistani youth especially to females who had never even thought about this sport seriously.

    In Pakistani society women sports participation is low as compared to the men in this profession. It was long journey of hurdles and opposition that made it even impossible for youth to think about this sport as a career. However still the inspirational figures of society who fought against these odds and pursue their sports journey opened a gateway of opportunities for youth in this domain. Anita karim is also one of those who just did not let those gender stereotypes resist her dream of becoming the Pakistan first mixed martial art lady.

    Her consistent struggle and passionate work she represented the Pakistan on international level. Not only the international representation, she just portrayed a positive projection of Pakistani women that a Pakistan women can mark her success and excel in any field of the life. Still more fights would be coming in her career pathway for which she has been coaching herself consistently.
