Representation of Pukhtun in Pakistan TVs advertisements

  • I think every researcher wish to do his research in the best way on his topic of interest. Same was the case with me I make my mind with few topic and start it discussing with my NUST class fellows and Riphah teachers Sir Noman Ansari and Sir Raiz Adil. As I am new to the research and there is no shame to accept that I didn’t know ABC of research even I was not use to with Microsoft office. Because from the University I graduated they run the system with conventional way. There were always demerits in my research topics. I visited Sir Rehan about seven times and he always refines my ideas. Actually I was trying to my research on Social construction approach of media so finally I start my research on “Representation of Pukhtun in Pakistan TVs advertisements.

    The idea with this specific topic came to my mind because of the stereotype approach about Pukhtun community in Pakistan. This is the beauty of Pakistan that people belong from diverse culture, language and tradition living together under one flag and one nation. but it’s the era of hybrid and 5th generation War some external forces and unfortunately some internal elements like Pashtu own film industry is promoting Pukhtun in such way that they like War, they arrogant, conservatives and  indecent.

    Now my work is to collect all TVs advertisement of last decade where Pashtun are represented in either ways. And I have to studied the content of all such advertisements that how Puhktun community are represented in these advertisements. Finally if I came to the problem I face and will face afterwards regarding my research as I write above that I am new to the research and academic writing although I learned a lot in the past two semester but yet a lot of things needs to be seek now. Secondly finding advertisements of last decade is also a problem to me because whole advertisement is not uploaded on YouTube or any other sources. As per guidelines directed to me I have to find plenty number of advertisement to generate research based results.
