The Wizards DG was able to draw on the knowledge of NBA2king Wizards and Mystics about selecting players with certain traits that may predict future success. This is quite an accomplishment for a game which once played second to Electronic Arts' NBA Live. It's now better than the franchise as per Strauss Zelnick of Take-Two Interactive. He added that success isn't dependent on what the league's performance is.
He says that NBA2K is now a fun experience. "Once in the past, it was part of the experience. If you go back to when there was a lockout [in 2011], it affected us. But we went into the pandemic and, obviously, no basketball was being played. We did just fine. We were more than good."
The popularity of the game among consumers will receive a test of different kinds when PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions of the game come out. As opposed to other titles, 2K Sports opted to create separate versions of the game.
There's a chance of risk in that particularly with the tiny installation base of players that are a part of the new launch of the system. But developers wanted to showcase exclusive features in those games.
"The team wanted to create a brand new title right from the start," says Zelnick. "We believe that it's an amazing idea. There's an entirely new experience, known as the City it's The Park taken to Buy 2K MT Xbox another level. ... We hope to deliver the premier simulation experience and also the premier cultural basketball living experience. That's the reason why NBA2K has earned its name for."
