This was Onana’s breakthrough season. Onana began FC 17 with a 69 overall, but through updates throughout the season ended with a 77 overall! The increase of +8 was just reward for keeping 15 clean sheets in the Eredivisie.
Quite the leap from FC 17. Onana began and ended FC 18 with a rating of 78. FC 24 Coins Still a youngster, Onana’s 85 potential in Career Mode showed how highly he was rated. Onana could not improve in his 15 clean sheets from the season before though, and Ajax finished second again.
The 2018/19 season was another good one for Onana. He kept 16 clean sheets in the league as Ajax won the title, and also helped his side reach the semi-finals of the Champions League. This saw his rating rise from 78 to 82 overall throughout the course of the season.
By FC 20 Onana has established his credentials as one of Europe’s top goalkeepers. Another strong season despite the COVID-curtailment saw another upgrade for the Cameroonian. Ending EA Sports FC 24 Coins FC 20 with an 85 overall, Onana also featured in Ultimate Team’s Team of the Year event.
