SARA & JOÃO: REAL BRIDE STORY

  • We met whenever we were in senior high school, he didn’t visit the same school as me, but we'd be friends in keeping and the same interest, therefore we started chilling out. Quickly we became close friends and accustomed to talking constantly. We felt like we'd known one another forever. We let things flow and our friendship bloomed right into a lovely relationship.

He proposed in my experience on our 4th dating anniversary. His initial plan ended up being to take me towards the beach, prepare me a great surprise picnic and propose in my experience at sunset but... it rained on that day to ensure that ruined his plan. Because he really wanted the proposal to become on that specific day he didn’t quit and planned different things. We had lunch at our favorite pizzeria after which he took me towards the cinema, once we both love going to the movies together and made it happen every month since we started dating. The room was empty, so we'd the place only for ourselves. After that, he drove me to his place. When we got there, us was there. He covered my eyes and our song started playing and he led me to his room. When he explained to open my eyes, I saw a huge stuffed panda bear (panda is our cute lame couple nickname for one another), a rose bouquet, a diamond ring, and a handmade sign saying: "Will you marry me?". I'm a simple woman, which means this was a lot more than perfect for me personally, I was so happy instantly said yes. As a last surprise, he'd prepared an attractive seafood dinner for people.

I visited 5 wedding gown shops and tried around 10 bridal gowns. As I investigated different types of dresses I knew immediately that I desired to get married inside a mermaid dress. I was so initially disappointed I couldn’t find anything I fell deeply in love with, however when I tried on FeelTimes dress, I just felt a click, I was sure it had been the right one for me personally. It fitted my body system shape so well and I got a lot of compliments around the wedding day! Go

I get yourself some simple pearl earrings, a set of Badgley Mischka flats along with a floral bridal clip during my half-up-do. Nothing else, I think that less in additional. The dress really was detailed, and I wanted it to become the main focus of my small look.

We got married at Quinta do Monte in Castro Marim, Algarve, Portugal in the summertime.

We both wrote one another original funny vow and I loved hearing him read his in my experience. Also, my hubby sang in my experience at the marriage! I was not expecting it. He hired a band and sang me a song (he even changed the lyrics to suit the occasion which makes it super funny). His dad and the uncles also played a song for all of us after not playing together ever since they were teenagers. When we entered the reception dining room I was running and jumping around in-between tables, hi-fiving all of our guests while "welcome towards the jungle” by Guns & Roses was playing!

Our theme was music so our seating place is made around that theme. Each table was named following a different musical genre. I made my very own seating plan chart with a few vintage old doors, the table name cards, the welcome aboard, the marriage programs, and several other things.

What could be your advice to brides to become?

Plan things as time pass so you don't feel stressed as the big day approaches! And most importantly breathe, almost always there is something not going to take place the way you have planned it but that is life, eventually, you will look back and laugh at internet marketing.
